Sport and Physical Activity

The benefits of sport and physical activity have taken centre-stage over the last few years as concerns over the activity levels of primary school children have been raised.  At Brickhill, not only do we encourage participation in organised sports, but we aim to provide opportunities for our children to be as physically active as possible during the school day.

All our pupils receive the recommended 2 hours of PE lessons each week, class teachers provide regular activity breaks during lessons and we offer a variety of extra-curricular clubs throughout the year.

During 2018/19, these included:

  • Football (girls and boys)
  • Futsal
  • Dodgeball
  • Cricket
  • Tag Rugby
  • Rounders
  • Netball
  • Hockey
  • Athletics
  • Gymnastics
  • Ninja Academy (Martial arts)

In addition, we participate in the majority of festivals and tournaments organised by our local Sports Partnership, of which we are a full member.

Our commitment to sport and physical activity in the school and local community has earned us the School Games Gold Award for the last 2 years.
