Computing

Brickhill Primary School
Children in EYFS begin their experience of computing through exploring a variety of resources in their provision and also take part in a weekly computing lesson in our computing suite.

This is part of their work on Expressive Arts and Design where they will technology to explore, use and refine a variety of artistic effects to express their ideas and feelings. They will also return to and build on their previous learning, refining ideas and developing their ability to represent them as well as create collaboratively, sharing ideas, resources and skills.

In Years 1 to 6, the children take part in weekly computing lessons following a scheme of learning that explores a range of areas within the computing curriculum. There is a focus on developing key IT skills which the children will be able to transfer across other areas of the curriculum whilst also exploring the world of coding. The children will also think about our use of technology and how we can use the internet. There is a high importance placed on E-Safety with key principles of being safe online reinforced regularly.
